It’s with a heavy heart that I am announcing that as of February 28th, 2013 Kim Fordham Photography will be closed indefinitely. I know this news comes as a huge shock to most of you but please know that this decision was made after months and months of thought and deliberation. After 7 years of juggling my time and devotion to both my business and family, I have ultimately decided to devote myself entirely to my husband and three amazing children. This past year has been a record year for me in terms of sessions and sales (thanks to all of my fantastic clients!) so while the closure of my business is bittersweet, I am delighted to be leaving on such a high note with incredibly fond memories. I’ve built many wonderful relationships and friendships over the years and I will cherish them all!

I am sure I have left a few wondering how this will work with pre-purchased sessions and baby plans. Between now and the end of February, I will be accepting only clients that have pre-purchased a session whether it’s through my Leap Day Special or through a Baby Plan. Since Leap Day Specials must be used by 2/28/13 regardless, this shouldn’t pose a problem. However, if you purchased a Baby’s First Year plan, you will have until the end of February to use your sessions. Any remaining sessions will be refunded at the end of that time period. If you’d like to use a baby plan session for something other than the baby – i.e. Holiday Portraits or Family Portraits – this may be done as well.

In order to devote my available time to those who have already purchased a session, I will no longer be accepting new clients or new sessions. I apologize to you all for this inconvenience! I encourage you all to check out the work of Tara Zornow of Chixie and Honey Artistic Imagery as she is another local photographer who specializes in children’s photography. Please note that my schedule in the coming months is already rather full so be sure to call or email me ASAP if you need to schedule a pre-purchased session. Availability will be on a first come, first served basis and is not guaranteed!

Today I got to spend the afternoon with 10 gorgeous teenage ladies as part of a Sweet 16 birthday party.  Quite a difference from a 2-year-old haha!  Although, there’s something to be said for a toddler that doesn’t care about their hair ;-)  It was fun though and a nice break from my hectic newborn/baby run.  Can’t wait to share more!  For now, check out this cutie patootie 3-month-old!

Happy Memorial Day!  I’ve just returned from a week-long family vacation in sunny Charleston, South Carolina so my holiday has been consumed by WORK!!! So much to do, so little time!  I’ve just uploaded two galleries, placed 5 orders and packaged two more.  Busy, busy, busy!  And once again, I’m sad to say that June is officially booked.  If you’d like to schedule a session with me for July or beyond, please do so ASAP.  I’m booking up faster than ever these days and it kills me to say “no” to anyone!

As my AMAZING vacation is coming to an end, I felt I should probably get a taste of reality and blog something.  I’ve been wanting to share this handsome baby boy for some time now but we all know how quickly time gets away from us.  Better late then never, right?!?

I think I’ve decided to add a separate gallery on my Website for one-year-old cake smashes! They have become so popular and I adore sharing how they turn out. Here are two recent “Smashers”!

Baby E was, by far, my messiest smasher to date but ironically, had no interest in eating the cake at all!

Baby L was a bit more interested in eating the cake than Baby E but I think ultimately, his goal was to see just how much green frosting he could accumulate on his hands haha!

First things first, I did want to let everyone know that May is completely full so I am now booking into June.  If you are pregnant and would like newborn portraits done, please contact me as soon as possible so I can get you on my schedule (based on your due date).  I can only accept a certain number of newborns a month and several months are nearly full!  Also, if you are part of my baby plan, please be sure to contact me about 6 weeks prior to your baby’s milestone to schedule your session.  We’re hitting the very busy season and I want to make sure everyone gets the times and dates they want!

With that out of the way, take a look at this perfect little princess.  I think this may very well be one of my all time favorite newborn sessions.  I’m so happy with how the color combo came together and this sweet princess was an absolute gem to photograph!

In an effort to get caught up as well as show off all the cuteness I’ve seen in the studio recently, I decided to consolidate a little.  Here’s a collage of some of the adorable kiddos I have had the pleasure to photograph.   Aren’t they all gorgeous?!?

A note to expectant parents: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be sure to contact me far before your baby’s due date if you would like a newborn session.  I have recently had to turn away several newborns because I am fully booked by the time they call and it’s usually AFTER the baby has already been born.  It’s always a good idea to get on my calendar as far in advance as possible to avoid this disappointment.  Thank you!

I admit it, I’ve been a horrible blogger lately.  Between illness (have you heard about my broken ribs???) and my kids’ Spring Break, it just seems like there is very little time.  You may see me more often on Facebook, but even that’s been hit or miss lately! Hopefully, I can find more time because I have lots to share!  Here’s a recent mini maternity session I did.  I can’t wait to meet baby Lyla soon!

Clients, PLEASE NOTE: I only have one more weekday evening session left open for April. All weekends are booked. For May, I only have one weekend left and 2 weekday evenings. That’s it! Call me ASAP if interested!
