On the average, 1 in every 4 elementary school has a child with cancer. The average high school has two students who are a current or former cancer patient. In the U.S., about 46 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every weekday.  That’s nearly two classrooms of students EACH DAY.

Did you know that September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month?  While awareness of pediatric cancers is a year-round concern, the month of September is dedicated to informing and educating as well as helping to raise funds for research in hopes of one day finding a cure.

Little Miss C was such a sweetheart.  She was wide-eyed and alert when she showed up at my studio but so sweet and calm.  It took us awhile to convince her to fall asleep but once she did, she was just as perfect.  Thanks to the G family for allowing me to photograph their beautiful baby girl.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

The mom of 1-year-old Baby “C” came with a distinct image in mind.  Her older two children had their one year portraits done by a window and she really wanted to have a similar picture of Baby “C”.  Since they had moved away from their old photographer, she asked if I could try and replicate the shot and I, of course, was more than happy to!  Hopefully I got what mom was looking for but we did end up with some super cute shots of a darling little boy!  Just a teaser for now…

This lovely mama is expecting baby #2 very soon.  It’s almost hard to believe as she is so petite!  Good luck to the “M” family.  I’m so anxious to hear if big brother “B” will have a baby sister or baby brother!

Here’s more of sweet Baby “M”. Such a beautiful and funny little 5-week-old!

I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph an amazing group of children and teenagers during a promotional shoot for Kids Cancer Crusade, an organization that offers support to families affected by pediatric cancers. This session was inspirational and the strength and courage these children exude is indescribable. Be sure to follow us as I share the many faces of cancer throughout the month of September.

I had a delightful time photographing my most recent set of twins.  Their personalities were so cute yet so different.  I guess even at birth, their opposite personalities were apparent.  Baby “J” was in a rush and forced mom to deliver in the backseat of their truck on the way to the hospital (I’ve never actually MET someone that had this happen!) while Baby “L” wasn’t quite yet ready to come out and took his time.  Too funny!

Baby “M” was a funny little thing.  She did not like to be disturbed while she rested and any little movement would make her angry.  Despite that, we got some really great images of this precious 5-week-old.  Here’s one for now!
