And Another Boy… – Toledo Newborn Photographer
December 29, 2010I’ve had a run on newborn boys lately! Luckily, I have a newborn girl coming up in the next week so I’ll at least get my pink fix. I think this family was more than ready to bring in the blue though. After 3 beautiful girls, they welcomed their first baby boy. Congrats to the F family!

More Baby Girl – Toledo Baby Photographer
November 24, 2010I couldn’t resist sharing more of this sweet baby girl. She was so precious and quite serious during our session.

This one totally cracked me up. How cute is that little pout???

A Beauty in the Park – Toledo Baby Photographer
June 27, 2010We were very lucky to be able to squeeze this session in between the spurts of rain. I was afraid we’d have to reschedule again when it poured shortly after arriving to our location but it stopped almost as quickly as it started and we were able to carry on. Good thing too because little “S” is absolutely adorable and we had a great time just roaming around the park. Aren’t her eyes stunningly beautiful?!?

I brought a picnic basket full of lemons and limes to match her beautiful yellow skirt and she immediately tried to bite into a lemon!
It didn’t taste good hahahaha!
We played peekaboo with a scarf!

A Lost Cause? – Toledo Baby Photographer
May 10, 2010If you ask any photographer with younger children who the hardest subjects are to photograph, I bet 9 out of 10 would say their own kids. We like to refer to it as the Photographer’s Child Syndrome (PCS). My kids are definitely no exception and suffer from severe PCS. While it’s never easy, I must say that my oldest two children have become a bit easier in the last year or two to photograph, although, getting a genuine smile instead of “sit and say cheese” forced smile/grimace is the real challenge. Even so, I would prefer to take their picture and anyone else in all of Toledo over my youngest. Not only is she in the worst possible age group for photos (18 months to 2.5 years) but she also takes PCS to the extreme. She goes running the minute I lift the camera. I have a bit better chance of getting a decent shot of her outdoors as I can usually trick her into looking in my direction every so often but in the studio, it’s a lost cause. She knows what the studio is for and the minute I try and “stage” her the PCS flows full force. I have not taken a decent studio portrait of her since she was 9 months old. I told myself that when she turns 18-months-old I would force myself to give it another try but I chickened out. I just couldn’t get myself to do it! So this morning, while I was folding laundry, I got this great idea in my head that TODAY was going to be the day. TODAY I was going to get a magnificent studio portrait of my now 22-month-old sweetheart (a term used loosely here as there is nothing sweet about her during a photo shoot). I set everything up, got her dressed, had all my tricks and bribes ready to go, camera up and ready to shoot and…DISASTER! Yet another failed attempt. Well, almost. I did get this one (and only one!) shot with near eye contact and a hint of a smile. OK, so she’s smiling at the lollipop I have dangling over my head and is getting ready to pounce but it’s a decent shot nonetheless. I suppose beggars can’t be choosers!

Where Have You Been??? – Toledo Photographer
May 7, 2010“Where have you been?” is a question I received today from a client. Ah yes, where have I been??? I’m here! I had surgery just over two weeks ago and have taken time off to recover. I’m doing great though and will be jumping back in full force this weekend! May is jam packed until I leave for vacation later this month (woohoo!!!!) and June is nearly full. If you’re thinking about photos any time soon, please be sure to call me ASAP!
During the months of May & June, I am offering a FREE wallet size gallery book with every collection purchase. Yes, that’s FREE!!! I’m testing these out and think they’re just the cutest things. They’re small enough to fit in every purse or diaper bag. Every image from your image gallery is included and you get to pick the cover image. I love them!

I have some great sessions coming up before I leave for South Carolina including two newborns, a 10-month-old, an adorable family and some cute kiddos. I can’t wait to get back to what I love most!
Birthday Boy – Toledo Baby Photographer
April 19, 2010Little boy “C” is turning one! He is amazingly cute and is not phased by the camera at all. Don’t you just love all of his hair? My youngest is almost 10 months older and only has a quarter of what he has!

Of course we couldn’t do a one-year-old photo session without a cake smash! I love the cake his mom brought. The colors were so bright and awesome! Mr. “C” seemed to like it too! This was my favorite from the shoot:

And a bunch more:

Sun! Beautiful Sun! – Toledo Baby and Child Photographer
April 7, 2010The last few days in Toledo have been absolutely gorgeous and of course the annoying mommy photographer that I am could not pass up the opportunity for some warm weather photos of my children. At least 2 of the 3 cooperated. Isn’t that how it always works? They couldn’t all possibly cooperate at the same time, right?
My youngest was dancing and I got a perfect shot of the sun beaming down on her. Oh, how I’ve longed for this sun!
I think my oldest daughter has enjoyed the sun and warm weather even more than me.
It’s raining now and getting colder by the minute. At least we were able to enjoy it while it lasted!
