I took these pictures of my very own kiddos a few weeks ago but never got around to sharing. I saw this chair in a friend’s basement and I immediately had a vision. I knew it would pop against the beautiful fall colors. Enjoy!

For the third straight year I had the pleasure of photographing all of the cute kids in costumes at my mothers’ group’s annual Halloween party. I’ve been a member of Mothers’ Center of Greater Toledo for six years now and it’s been such a rewarding experience. This non-profit and non-denomenational organization if full of amazing and supportive mothers from in and around Toledo. We meet every Thursday morning during Fall, Winter and Spring and we also have a fabulous social calendar full of fun and exciting things for the entire family outside of our regularly scheduled meetings. I strongly encourage all mothers that are available on Thursday mornings to come to one FREE meeting to preview our group. It’s truly such an awesome organizaiton. This group has been with me through births, losses, bedrest, and the best and worst of times. I don’t know what I would do without them!
Anyway, back to the cute kids! There were so many adorable costumes this year and I wish that I could put every single one of them on my blog but for now, I will narrow it down to just a few. Aren’t they precious?!?

There is nothing prettier than Ohio in the fall. I may not love Ohio during the winter (actually, I loathe it) but it’s a small price to pay for the beautiful fall scenery. When you add a wonderful family to the mix, it just doesn’t get any better. This family of four were such a pleasure to photograph. I truly had a great time. I hope they enjoy their sneak peeks!

There’s a bit of a story behind this next session. A few weeks ago I was having a very bad day. Anything and everything that could go wrong went wrong. After an exhausting morning I finally got the kids down for a nap and I sat down to do my daily email, phone, website and blog check. At this point, I was literally in tears recapping the morning I had just had and really wasn’t in the mood to face the work that was calling my name but I forced myself to get to it. I checked my blog first for any pending comments that needed approval and I only had one that day but it’s one that I will always remember:
Kim, I am going to unlurk myself and tell you that I have followed your photography blog and website for some time now. I found you through a google search I did one day. Your work is just beautiful!! I have yet to find another photographer that I like better. Your style is simply flawless. Imagine my excitement when I learned that you are in Toledo, OH and I live just an hour from there. So someday, when I have enough money saved up, I want to book a session with you for my husband, my daughter, and myself. Blessings to you!
Not only was it a truly sweet and endearing comment but it was from a complete stranger. It was a comment that was totally unsolicited. This person had never met me but she took the time out of her day to leave such a thoughtful response to my blog. It truly amazed me and it made me smile. It couldn’t have come at a better time as my awful morning was suddenly a thing of the past.
My curiosity got the best of me and I just had to find out more about this person. I followed a link from her comment and found her blog. I’d like to share it with you: http://caymancindy.blogspot.com/
This blog is full of stories and information about a precious baby girl who has had a rough start to such a miraculous life. Sweet Cayman and her family have been through more in the last year and a half than most people have been through in a lifetime. If you read her blog, you will see just what a miracle this little girl is. It was a very eye opening moment for me. Here I am sitting at my desk with a “woe is me” attitude recapping the bad morning I had when this family is just thankful for every single day, good or bad. Perspective.
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I just knew there was a reason why I was contacted that particular day. I was being reminded of the gift I have to give. I contacted this family and invited them out for a photo session and I was honored that they accepted my offer. They were such an amazing family and Cayman is a true beauty. She just lit up the room with her intense spirit. Her smile melted my heart.
I am so happy to be able to share these images with you. Cayman is another reminder of how sweet and precious life is. She’s a true miracle!

This is probably one of my favorite family portraits!

Cayman recently learned how to sit unsupported. She’s a pro now!
Mom and Dad are HUGE Buckeye fans. They even taught Cayman how to give the touchdown signal!
A huge thank you to this family for granting me this opportunity!
We were able to mix it up a little bit with my next session doing both outdoors and studio. I love the variety! Little Luke was a trooper and did so well. Unfortunately, it was after the session that the tears started flowing when he fell flat on his face and got a bloody nose
Poor guy!

Seeing everyone dressed up in their holiday attire is getting me anxious and excited for the upcoming holidays! I love this time of year!
My latest family looked darling for their photo session. The kiddos weren’t exactly in the picture taking mood but they held in there long enough for a few shots. I think they were more excited for the Halloween party they were attending immediately following our session!

I’m a bit behind and hope to catch up eventually. Stay tuned for more…
This little man needs to go into modeling or acting or something! He showed off those pearly whites the minute he got in front of the camera and didn’t stop smiling until we were done! I wish they were all this easy. I think he needs to give my kids a few lessons

I had another great family session this past weekend. The mom of these awesome kids informed me when booking that she has NEVER gotten a good picture of all four of her kids together. Man, talk about some pressure!!! Luckily, they made it easy on me and were super good throughout the entire shoot. I think we got several great shots but hopefully Mom thinks so too
Enjoy your sneak peek!

I couldn’t wait to meet my client’s new baby girl. She was absolutely precious as I knew she would be. She was so good and made my job super easy this morning!

I was excited to photograph this family of six because it was at their home and I don’t get to do sessions at homes very often. Most tend to want to visit a park so the change of scenery is always fun. The mom of this family really wanted a nice family photo and luckily, the rest of the family obliged just long enough to get some good shots
Thanks so much to the “B” clan for being patient!
