If you’re a follower of mine, you probably know by now that I don’t normally do couples, engagement or wedding photography. However, I will always make exceptions for family! My brother-in-law and his beautiful girlfriend asked me to photograph them while we were in South Carolina and I happily obliged. It’s always fun trying something different and I had an absolute blast!
We spent the last week in Charleston, South Carolina and I must admit that I’m pretty sad to be home. It was absolutely gorgeous there. The weather was perfect and our house was beautiful. It was a welcomed relief after a miserable car ride down. My son was getting a cold and I think the extra fluid in his ears caused him to suffer from horrible car sickness. The poor guy felt awful and unfortunately, the cold had him under the weather for the first few days of our vacation. I think he still managed to have a good time though. I think we all did!
Here are just a few of the hundreds of pictures I took during our trip. My oldest was a super cooperative model and I got so many awesome shots of her.
The last time I photographed this family, they were still waiting on the arrival of baby #3. Now that their family of five is complete, they asked me to update their family portraits. This time, we did it outside their lovely home on the water. As always, mom picked out perfect outfits to compliment the beautiful scenery. The colors in these turned out amazing!
The last few days in Toledo have been absolutely gorgeous and of course the annoying mommy photographer that I am could not pass up the opportunity for some warm weather photos of my children. At least 2 of the 3 cooperated. Isn’t that how it always works? They couldn’t all possibly cooperate at the same time, right?
My youngest was dancing and I got a perfect shot of the sun beaming down on her. Oh, how I’ve longed for this sun!
I think my oldest daughter has enjoyed the sun and warm weather even more than me.
It’s raining now and getting colder by the minute. At least we were able to enjoy it while it lasted!
These two cousins were hilarious to watch and were far more excited to see and play with each other than take pictures. Whether they knew it or not, their excitement made for some adorable images. I put together this fun little collage to document the moment.
My son has loathed the camera every day of his 3.5 years of life. I could have sworn he and my youngest daughter were holding a contest to see which one could go the longest without looking at the camera. It was a stiff competition up until today when my son finally faltered. It took some super harsh bribery (I let him skip his nap in return for just a few moments of cooperation – that’s HUGE!) but I ended up with the most successful 3 minutes of shooting ever. I now have something I can finally use on my walls!

My last set of siblings were dressed to impress! I absolutely loved the bright blue and yellow outfits that mom had perfectly coordinated. I had a wonderful time with these two sweethearts.
I have more adorable siblings to show off. Little boy “N” was reluctant to smile for me but luckily his big sis was all grins.
These beautiful sisters have the most amazing long, dark eyelashes to compliment their big, brown eyes. Most girls can only dream of eyelashes like these! A happy early birthday to little Miss “M” who will be celebrating her first birthday very soon.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing sweet little “E” before and I was excited to see her again. She’s still as cute as ever and still carries around her little doggy everywhere she goes. This time though, she offered up way more smiles!
